Performance Evaluation of Two Allocation Schemes for Combinatorial Group Testing Fault Isolation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Two fault isolation approaches based on Combinatorial Group Testing (CGT) are presented. Although they both share the basic principle of grouping suspect resources into subgroups for testing, they differ in the allocation strategy used to achieve that grouping. Equal share CGT approach is analyzed first, results shown successful fault isolation in 85% of the runs. An average of 3.65 groups and 362 test vectors were needed to isolate a single fault with an average of 2.95 discrepant outputs in each run. After that, Interleaved CGT approach is proposed along with analytical demonstration of its strengths and weaknesses. Finally, future research framework is suggested to experimentally compare the two

Reliability and Performance Evaluation of Fault-aware Routing Methods for Network-on-Chip Architectures (RESEARCH NOTE)
Nowadays, faults and failures are increasing especially in complex systems such as Network-on-Chip (NoC) based Systems-on-a-Chip due to the increasing susceptibility and decreasing feature sizes. On the other hand, fault-tolerant routing algorithms have an evident effect on tolerating permanent faults and improving the reliability of a Network-on-Chip based system. This paper presents reliabili...
متن کاملA combinatorial group testing method for FPGA fault location
Adaptive fault isolation methods based on discrepancyenabled pairwise comparisons are developed for reconfigurable logic devices. By observing the discrepancy characteristics of multiple Concurrent Error Detection (CED) configurations, fault isolation is realized without requiring additional test vectors or data coding schemes. Hence the reprogrammability of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA...
متن کاملEvaluation of Two Load-Balancing Primary-Backup Process Allocation Schemes
In this paper, we show two process allocation schemes to tolerate multiple faults when the primary-backup replication method is used. The first scheme, called multiple backup scheme, is running multiple backup processes for each process to tolerate multiple faults. The second scheme, called regenerative backup scheme, is running only one backup process for each process, but re-generates backup ...

متن کاملFault-Tolerant Process Allocation with Load Balancingy
Process allocation is important for fault-tolerant multi-computer systems since it directly aaects the performance and dependability of the system. In this paper , we consider load-balancing process allocation for fault-tolerant systems that balances the load before as well as after faults start to degrade the performance of the system. We show two schemes to tolerate multiple faults in the pas...
